A very beautiful and smart woman, She was crowned as the Binibining Pilipinas Universe in 2011, thereby representing her country in the 60th Miss Universe pageant in Sao Paulo, Brazil where she took placement as 3rd-Runner Up.

Shamcey was a valedictorian student in grade school and salutatorian in High School. She obtained her degree in architecture from University of the Philippines Diliman, graduating as Magna Cum Laude. She topped the Philippines’ Licensure Examination for architects in June 2010 with board rating of 86.60%.
